About the show

The Premise

The series follows Vincent Chase, a young, laid-back actor from Queens, New York, who skyrockets to A-list stardom in Los Angeles. To keep his feet on the ground (and the party going), he brings along his “entourage”: his brother and his two childhood best friends.

The Core Five

  • Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier): The star. He is effortlessly cool, dangerously nonchalant about his career, and incredibly loyal to his boys.

  • Eric “E” Murphy (Kevin Connolly): The manager and the “moral compass.” E is the only one who actually tries to learn the business to protect Vince’s future.

  • Johnny “Drama” Chase (Kevin Dillon): Vince’s older brother. A C-list actor obsessed with his fitness and his “glory days” on a fictional show called Viking Quest. He provides most of the show’s comedy.

  • Turtle (Jerry Ferrara): The driver and man-of-all-errands. Initially the slacker of the group, his character arc shows significant growth as he tries to start his own businesses.

  • Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven): Vince’s high-octane, foul-mouthed, and ruthlessly ambitious agent. Piven won three Emmys for this role, and many consider him the real “star” of the show.

Fun Fact: The show is loosely based on the early career of executive producer Mark Wahlberg, who also moved from the East Coast to Hollywood with his childhood crew in tow.
