Core Plot

The story follows Stevie (played by Céci Chuh), a 14-year-old girl living a nomadic, chaotic life with her “immoderate” parents. Her father, Axel, has just been released from prison for drug dealing, and her mother, Lily, is equally flighty and irresponsible.

When the family moves into a dilapidated house in a quiet provincial town, Stevie tries desperately to integrate into “normal” society. To fit in with the local kids, she crafts elaborate lies, claiming her father is a diplomat. However, her attempt at a stable life is constantly undermined by her parents’ lifestyle, as their home quickly fills with eccentric hangers-on, drug users, and constant chaos.
